jawa-tengahITS–The symbol of the Central Java Province is a five-angled “CupuManik”, which carries pictures of Borobodur temple, the pride of the province; twin mountains, symbolizing the harmony between the province’s rulers and its people; sharpened bamboo, symbolizing the people’s involvement in the struggle for independence; sea waves, symbolizing their dynamic heart; a star, symbolizing their belief in God; rice and cotton stalks, symbolizing their quest for welfare.

The rice stalk bears 17 fruits; the sharpened bamboo has eight spaces-between; the cotton stalk bears four leaves and five fruits. These recall the day Indonesia proclaimed independence.
